Mr FANG
It seems a bit unfair and invading of privacy that mods and admins can see private club only entries. I mean, what exactly is the worst that could happen? Are the admins expecting us to be plotting how to hack the forum in private blogs? If that's the case, I'd do it over skype :( But seriously, I see no point in letting mods/admins see them. I do have a few mods in my private club because I don't mind letting them read them, but I don't think they know they are there and not just able to see them because they are mods. :D
Sofee
Mods are here to keep the forums safe, and need to monitor anything that would break the rules. Private entries are also part of this, unfortunately :( . I mean, who knows if somebody's planning some evil conspiracy with their friends in them? :D

Doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of private blogs though? You're trying to let only certain people read them for a reason, right? :(
Reverie
Admins need a private place, gives them a place where they can talk freely about ideas and other things. Mods also need a break from 'modding' the forum and have time to talk to the other mods. :( I generally like it when I create my own forums. I don't think you understood what this topic is about. :D I'm pretty sure the forum rules apply to private blogs as well, so obviously to make sure nobody plots to hack the forum, flames other forum members or breaks any other forum/JaGeX rules in a blog staff members need to be able to view private entries. heb0
I mean, what exactly is the worst that could happen? Flaming people Talking about members on your block list Porn Phishing Advertising gold selling sites Telling members how to break RS rules Human trafficking Stuff like that. :( Basically anything that is against the forum rules, as there would be no way to moderate it. While we generally do moderate more lightly in the blog section because members have the ability to delete/approve posts and determine who can read/reply to their entries, we have to have some ability to control content. The only way I could see this working would be if we decided to stop moderating the blogs entirely, because only then would be able to remain consistent. Basically he is saying that mods+admins shouldn't be able to see our private club posts in the blogs. I agree. There are certainly mods I wouldn't mind seeing stuff, as I have talked with them. Tbh, I don't have issues with any of the mods, but that isn't always the case. The whole point of the blog is to make it so you can choose who sees stuff you may consider private/personal. There isn't a reason for the mods to do this, anybody with a brain will know about the rules, and if they are discussing something, or want to, that is against the rules, they can just do so over skype anyways. I'm sure alot of members have each other added on skype. If it is really that big of a deal to the mods and admins, which it shouldn't be, maybe they could find a way to make it so at least 1 mod or admin has to be on the list. I am sure that can be acceptable for both parties; There will still be moderation, and it will likely be somebody the blogger trusts.

Yes because a private club where only a couple of people an see it/post is really going to up activity. I think its perfectly acceptable for mods and admins to see private blogs, they cant moderate what they cant see. If its that sensitive a subject that you don't want them to see it then why the hell are you posting it on a site to people you don't really know anyway. And if you do know them, then just talk to them.
Goggie
Much as you may think that Mods like to use our powers to snoop around as much as possible and spy on those who think they are safe in their Private Blogs, it doesn't work like that. I'm really not seeing the issue when weighing up the two sides, if there's a particular thing that you're concerned about and is so private that you wouldn't want us to know about it, i'm assuming that it's something pretty personal that you could take aside and tell someone elsewhere. Mods can't read PMs, and as i'm sure you're aware there are plenty of other messaging formats for you to make use of :(

Blogs centralize everything, (at least, for those who talk about real life on here) and it's easy to look back on things from 2009/2010 and see what people commented then. Give your close friends a link and bob's your uncle, fanny's your aunt! That also is technically available for the public eye then, and word of mouth plays a bit of a role. On Sal's, guests can't view blogs, and while it is possible to just make a throwaway account, the visitor's log does help factor out unwanted guests, especially if they don't know about the private entries. It also deters them in the first place if they can't find "Mr. FANG's blog", or if they do, the private only entries are for certain people who aren't just throwaway accounts :D.
