Make Forum Dynamic?

I was wondering whether it was possible to make the forum dynamic(as in no more reloading)

if this isn't possible could notifications and messages be made dynamic?

Well I know that a small pop-up appears whenever a new post has been made since you started viewing a topic and that allows you to load the post in case it's relevant to anything you might be typing. I think that's better than automatically making it dynamic as it notifies users and gives them the choice about it.

Having the forum be dynamic would be nice in many ways. It might make the forum use up too much cpu on the hosting end.

the point isnt to make the whole dynamic(although that would be awesome) its just notifications(messages, etc)
