Jethraw Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Yep, Jagex, you should know that someone who's so close to getting 5B exp quits that MAYBE, you should re-examine your game. It's such a shame that all these good players keep quitting because of Jagex hah Yah, Jagex isn't doing such a good job of keeping good players in right now Players are players, whether they're "good" or not is irrelevant as long as they're paying fees, and I've not heard much negativity with any substance against Jagex lately. No, there's a big difference between good players and just players. For example, let's say I quit, right? No one will care, except maybe my friends, but they'll get over it. SUOMI quits, Zezima quits, a popular YouTuber quits? People will second guess their membership, wonder if maybe they shouldn't be subscribed. Yeah, not much negativity, lately, but I'm pretty sure there's only around 3 active RS members on this forum now, so, I guess that says something. Quote
djpailo Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) Lets be honest, if one player quits, regardless how famous that player is, Jagex won't lose much money. People will only ever play a game if their close and personal friends keep playing and/or they are enjoying it. No one plays the game just for the sake of playing because someone they don't know is famous among the gaming community - that doesn't even make sense. Edited October 25, 2012 by djpailo Quote

Yeah, it says people move on from a game to me, and says more about the forum than the game itself. And if some famous player quitting makes you consider quitting, I'd say you need to reevaluate why you play anyway. Quote
vipergatling Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Idk if I can post a link here, but there's a YT vid by Runeshark assuring he is quitting, and it has in some way been confirmed, if you track his highscores he hasn't gained much exp in the past two weeks, maybe a few 100k or so. He claims he will only log in to do farm runs and that it won't be for long. Lol guy actually said the lack of competition bored him. Quote
The Darkest Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Wait, whatever happened to Zezima being number one?! Quote
Jiraiya925 Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 maybe he will get some special recognition award or highlight, idk. what he will accomplish though is amazing and crazy at the same time. becuz of the effigy limit now i don't think anyone will come close to him for a long time. his family must be rich though cause he has been playing nonstop. his mentality is insane. its just like this 1 guy who got 200m agility on 2 different accounts because it was fun. crazy, incredible feat. Gnomey Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 In my personal opionion, I think that Suomi will be probably be added in a different list of hiscore, most likely to be called (Hall of Fame), where it will show, when the person got all skills maxed to the capacity. It is possible to make a small update for only one person, since this been an era where the first player gets 200M in every skill. Bwauder Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Suomi quitting with that small margin left to absolute maxing will be an incentive to some to get there 1st, he's proved its possible ( although an extreme grind) and there's always another that will take great joy in pipping him @ the post, even if hes no longer in the race. Digitalism Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Wait, whatever happened to Zezima being number one?! I know. I remember the days when people would try to make their names as close to Zezima, and everyone had him in their friends chat. Now most people don't even know him. It's all about Suomi. In my opinion, it sucks that he quit, but it's his choice. Quote
Ensiger Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 You can't complete an MMO. There will always be updates, new things to do... This isn't some console game that has a beginning and an end. This is an MMO. It had a beginning...and it just goes on and on until it eventually dies. That's like saying you completed life. There's ALWAYS something to do. Quote
Trey Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Someone in the FC pointed out that he got 2.5M hunter experience today. http://runetrack.com/profile.php?user=S_U__O__M_I Quote
Dei Wei Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 He's on almost 14m exp this week accordign to runetrack. Maybe he just needed a bit a break and he's back to finish off 200m all skills, we'll soon find out. Quote
wartoc Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I hope that he isn't coming back because he feels like he has to. Hopefully he's managed to find the spark he once had. Quote
AngeredLotus Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 They will probably make it a 300m xp cap per skil instead of 200m and be a troll. *AS USUAL* Quote
Beast V3 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 If they increase to 300m I will laugh so hard Quote
Mr FANG Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) If they increase to 300m I will laugh so hard Except it's not possible in 32bit java. Exp values are saved as integer values, as in, 200000000.0. The max digit in java being 2147483647, (231-1). Since it would be weird to have the XP cap at 214,748,364.7, they rounded down to 200m. This could of course be solved by switching to long values, but my guess is they're saving that for RS3, if that ever happens. Edited December 24, 2012 by Mr FANG Quote

It is not possible to 'store' the number at every 1b and then just add the extra as arbitrary units? I mean in java it is possible to write the number '4354323432423' or whatever, because that's just an arbitrary string of digits. So surely you could just make the '1' or '2' or '3' at the beginning an arbitrarily written digit, and just restart from 0 again every time someone gets to 1b? They could simply put you in 'group 1b' or 'group 2b' and make it so those people retain level 99 in-game, while resetting their real-value-xp to 0 every time they reach 100m xp, just put an arbitrary symbol of '1,' or 2,' in-front? EDIT: I must add, I know little/nothing about programming, but this seems like common sense, so it'd be nice to hear why it's not possible :D Edited December 26, 2012 by Mr Tintin Quote
Cody Michael Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I highly doubt Jagex would make an update just for one single player. :P I wonder what Suomi will do. Being that obsessed with a game to the point where you try to max out XP in every skill after years of constant play, what do you do after there is literally nothing left TO do? Lol no, he has WAY more to do. Quote
UltimateSpirit Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Maybe he is a virtual machine working for jagex to provide any rs player with the will to get like him don't you think cause I never see him logging on rs worlds just like zezima they log on fun orb worlds Quote
