Salmoneus 445 Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) Evolution of Combat (EoC) Launch Notes There's less than a day until EoC is planned to go live in RuneScape, and Jagex was kind enough to share some information that should help clear up some of the confusing stuff you might run into upon EoC's launch. Firstly, the Evolution of Combat update is planned to go live tomorrow, Nov 20, in the morning hours, in GMT time. There will be a few checks occurring upon first log-in following the update and to prevent any issues, the following events will take place: All poisoned items, like a dragon dagger p++, are converted into their un-poisoned versions, as poisoned weapons no longer exist Spellboxes (a reward from Dungeoneering) are removed and the player refunded the Dungeoneering tokens they used to purchase them Players are refunded any Dungeoneering tokens they spent to unlock the Dungeoneering versions of the Piety prayer, as they are now unlocked at the same time as the player gets Piety Players Prayer Points are fully restored All worn items are removed and placed in their backpack. If there is no room in their backpack, the items are sent to the bank. All players (both free and members) get 15 extra bank spaces (to make sure they have room to hold the items un-equipped) Players are given off-hand versions of any claw weapons they have. The claws they already have become the main-hand versions of the claws. If the player doesn't have any room for the new claws in their backpack and bank, they do not get the extra off-hand claws. Players disease is cured, as disease has been removed from the game Players PK skulls are removed, as they have been removed from the game The player is teleported to a random one of the following locations: Lumbridge Varrock (East or West bank) Edgeville Draynor Falador (East or West bank) Al Kharid Grand Exchange [*]The player is given a one-off pop-up telling them combat has been released, that their items were un-equipped and that they have been teleported to a safe town [*]Recalculate task totals (due to combat-related tasks being affected) EoC is going to be a huge change for everyone, and there are bound to be lots of questions about it. Hopefully these notes will help ease the transition a little bit. I also encourage everyone to help each other get used to the new RuneScape combat system! :) Edited November 20, 2012 by Salmoneus
nazgulwing 22 Posted November 19, 2012 I gotta get diseased one last time for nostalgia's sake then
Salmoneus 445 Posted November 20, 2012 I gotta get diseased one last time for nostalgia's sake then I know, right? I decided to post this in General RS Discussion - it's probably best to get people prepared for EoC rather than waiting for questions. Of course, questions in this topic are welcome. :D
Sobend 959 Posted November 20, 2012 Trying to enjoy as much of the old combat system as possible right now. Doing a playoff in ~20 minutes. Progress is progress but I'll miss this old combat system even if the newer one turns out to be better.

Progress is progress but I'll miss this old combat system even if the newer one turns out to be better. I'll miss it too. The old system is unique and is one of the things that makes RuneScape... RuneScape. I might log in a little later to give it one last go before EoC.

Fox Totem 10 Posted November 20, 2012 I guess I won't be getting stabbed by dragon daggers (p++) anymore whenever I venture into the wildy. Got to go check my bank space / inventory.

willabee8 0 Posted November 20, 2012 poison weapons still exist in the game. they are no longer permanently poisoned. weapon poison can be applied but the poison will wear off overr time and can be reapplied. Copied from Runescape: All poisoned items - such as the dragon dagger p++ - have been converted to their unpoisoned versions. Permanently poisoned weapons no longer exist in the game. Poison is now applied on a temporary basis. Using weapon poison potions (including + and ++ variants) gives all weapon attacks a chance to apply poison on hit for a limited time. iGoone 3 Posted November 22, 2012 So it's still worth it to switch from regular whip to vine whip?
Amber Pyre 19 Posted November 23, 2012 I love how Relicym's Balm exists, even though Disease is gone. Also, I'm very much looking forward to all the stuff they can do with this update.
Ambo100 28 Posted November 27, 2012 All worn items are removed and placed in their backpack. If there is no room in their backpack, the items are sent to the bank. It's a shame not being able to wear any of my member gear any more for as long as I'm a free player :(
