Thoughts on these specs?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of buying a new computer with these specs:

Acer Aspire M1935 Desktop PC

Intel Core i3 2120 @ 3.3GHz

12GB DDR3 RAM

2TB HDD,

AmD HD 7350 @ 1GB RAM

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Let me know what you think (preferably in the next 2 hours, if possible).

I would intend on using it for gaming too.

Thanks very much!

How much does it cost? You could probably build a better computer with the same amount of money. But if you don't want to build that looks like a solid build, but the GPU looks kind of low end if it goes by the same numerical naming system as the 7970, etc.

It would have been available for £360 but the offer is now over unfortunately.

But you're right, I could probably build a better computer for less than that.

DIY is typically the best route. An Core i3 can work fine, but pair with 8GB (2x4GB) RAM, an H61 motherboard (go higher-end with this low-end chipset--you can find boards with USB 3.0), and pair with a Radeon HD 7850. An Antec NSK 4482 might be available for <80 quid--it's a good chassis (though a bit barren--considering it doesn't have USB 3.0). Otherwise, pair with a Corsair CX500 V2 (really a ~400W PSU) and a chassis like a Corsair 200R, Lian-Li PC-K65, or any number of other lower-end USB 3.0 computer cases. Don't forget to grab a hard drive or, if you can afford a couple extra bucks, a ~128GB SSD.
