EoC Guide & Item Drive!

R6m7Z.jpg

Hey there! Christmas is quickly approaching, and -- you guessed it -- Sal's annual guide drive is here! This year, we would like to do a "big push" to update our guides, and we're focusing on EoC-related updates! As you probably have realized, the EoC update has made many of our guides... well, outdated. We need to change that, so we need YOUR help!

Although we're focusing on EoC updates at the for this guide drive, we're not limiting submissions to just Combat-related content. Quests have been updated, graphics have been reworked, game interfaces have changed, new items have been added and some have been updated or even removed.

That why we need YOU to help us! :santa:

Scoring System

Basically, the more you submit, the more points you receive. Here's our point system:

  • 1 Image - 1 point
  • A full guide's images - 1 point per picture + 10 points
  • A full guide re/write - 1 point per picture + 40 points
  • A brand new guide - 75 points
  • Written guide updates - 2 points per paragraph
  • New items - 1 point per item field, 20 points for a complete item.
  • Updates to existing items - 1 point per item field.
  • Just transparencies - 1 point every 3 images transparetised

Rules

  • Original content only! No copying text or images from other sites!
  • Post your submissions in the EoC Guide Drive board.
  • Tag your submission as "new guide", "guide update", "guide rewrite", "new item", or "item update" if it fits into one of those categories, and check the "use first tag as prefix" box.

So, are you in? Well, maybe you'd like to take a look at our prizes before you decide...

I'm really looking forward to this guide drive event. It's a chance to get our site updated, but we need everyone's help to do it! So much has changed and our website has fallen behind, but together we can rebuild it, make it stronger and better than ever! :santa:

I want a santa hat. :P

Well, here's your chance! :D

I am not sure I could make a guide. But I could bird dog information (and maybe images) for new items and updated items. I am not clear on the format you want for that.

What is a transparency?

I bet you could! :D

Here are the guidelines/format of an item submission. It's slightly outdated since we added more options to the Item Database last year - I'll work on that. :)

Transparency is basically making a part of the image see-through. Typically, you would take a picture of an item in your inventory, and make the inventory background transparent, leaving the item and its shadow alone. Photoshop (paid) or Paint.NET (free) can easily do this.

There is also this tool that you can use for the transparency.
