Realistically, you would earn most of the money you need, just hunting 200 million experience in all skills, so there would be no point in getting rich. That said, when I played, there was a gargantuan void between 13 million experience and 200 million experience, and no purpose to max a skill.

Do you have an opinion on who was first to 99?  Most people say it was cowchicken  but one other person claims the throne.

It might be relevant to point out that I have not played RuneScape actively for over 10 years though, so all my comments are very antiquated. RuneScape 3 was still not a thing when I quit.

My path to economical stability was never through skills though, as I was fairly average in that department. I did, however, earn a significant amount of gold through combat related activities such as PKing as my account was initially a 99/99/70 pure for Barrows duels, Dueling and later soloing bosses. That earned me a few discontinued items, then I hit jackpot when I got an Armadyl hilt off Soloing Kree'arra which netted me another 140 million on top of that which let me outright just buy a partyhat on top of that, and the rest of my RuneScape days basically was left doing random stuff with friends, further PKing/Wars and the odd random thing I did here and there, without ever really spending anything.

According to the current market prices, I do seem to have quite a few billions in the bank at this point, but it is all insignificant. I never had use for the money. The vast majority of the dragon bones I spent for prayer, for instance, was gained by killing green dragons while leveling attack/defence and counter-killing PKers, then selling whatever I managed to kill people for, or the green dragonhides I got. I liked grinding, but I hated to spend money, so it just... built up.  

I would not call me an experienced player, but I believe I was Sal's first 126 Combat player, and also the first to get all combat skills (at the time) to 99, so.. I guess I was not entirely useless.

You should not be. This place has been a place for many exceptional people whom have done remarkable feats, far more so than me. I would be far more impressed by the people that has played for well over 10 years.

I'm Rank #5 [I used Willow logs to 200M] I've seen on the RS Players Wiki that Cowchicken was 1st to 99. I have also been Rank 1 Firemaking

Well, I can safely say that going back to work after holidays sapped my energy and time.

In the meantime, I have been playing Hitman 2 (well, the Hitman 1 campaign within Hitman 2), and it is such a fun game. It feels so much like a puzzle game, that it is amazing fun. I love the expansive, open, areas with so many unique and creative ways to.. y'know.. inhume the targets.

You know, I remember reviews of that game applauding it as an outstanding game, but I never gave it a shot. I do not really do any mobile gaming other than Chess nowadays, but I might look into it. All I know is that it is enjoyable to try to set up situations to knock off feats, challenges and weird quirky assassinations.

the room (all 4 of em) --> modern take on point and click escape the room things using the options mobile gaming bring to make it tactile and make sue of the screen position

hitman go (for reasons mentioned above)

Threes, a simple game that shines in simplicity

carmageddon works really well on mobile, steering by tilting the screen is awesome

Magnus Carlsen is the Mozart of Chess. I consider myself the Beethoven of Chess, in the sense that I am completely deaf to all warning signs of commiting an atrocious blunder after a long series of solid play and tactics.

Honestly, it is less about knowing what games to play, but having the time/reason to play them. I used to play a lot of mobile games or do such things on my phone when I had extended periods of travel, but since I get to work in 4 minutes, there really is little time for me to use the phone except for intentionally using it repeatedly.

...and if I want to game, mobile gaming is not my first choice when I have other, and better, options.

but seriously, those 'the room' games are exquisite and only work on a tablet or phone because they are made for thouchscreen only

and they are really really really good

I played those ate home on the ipad, not during transport
