Is ranged weak?

Ive gotten my magic to 60 and my melee to a decent level and everything is fine so far. But my friend has a pure archer and it seems that he's lvling much slower and having a hard time killing. Are most monsters in f2p usually resistant to range? Is it worth investing in range later on?

 

P.S: my att is 30, str 40. def 30. where should I train at till i am around 50 in each? Ive tried fresh crawlers but i feel like there's someplace better.

Almost everything is weak to magic, and so because Ranged beats Magic, they are resistant to Ranged.

Therefore, in an attempt to balance the triangle, they somehow managed to tip it in favor of Magic and Melee.

I don't use Ranged often so I honestly have no idea. I'm pretty sure Lesser Demons are weak to Ranged but I really have no idea how hard to kill they are nowadays so I'm not sure if camping Lessers would be a good training option for you. Worth a try I suppose.
