requestion advices about what to do next..

Hi guys,

 

I want to ask you a couple of questions about what you would recommend me, so let me first tell you a little about my current situation:

 

This are my stats:

 

str/def/att = 80

ranged = 67

prayer = 70

magic = 95

summ = 55

slayer = 71

 

my other stars have an average of 65

 

I'm not much of skiller, I like slayer and melee, so I usually spend my time in rs doing slayer, my melee equipment is generally:

 

slayer full helm

amulet of fury

ss

rune platebody / verac's brassard

dragon platelegs

dragon boots

culinomancer's gloves 10

obsidian cape

ring of wealth

 

I use royal for ranged, and I almost never use magic (I have batwing I think..).

 

I have, with much much effort about 65m in the bank. Also, I do very little dung, so I have very few tokens (and level).

 

Now, I'm not a full time player, sometimes I like to get online do some slayer task, some quests or something like that and thats all. Is not I don't want to level my others skills, is just usually i don't have time to do so.

 

Considering my lvls, you can see I don't have an easy way to just go and kill some very high lvl monster and make lots of money. So I want to spend it carefully.

 

So, I have many questions:

 

1) I read a lot about how wonderful is chaotic maul for everything, but is very far for me, as I don't have lvls, tokens or time to get both. I'm ok with SS, but sometimes I think sgs will be great for slayer, I read is not worthy usually, but having in mind is very difficult for me to get a chaotic maul (or any dung related weapon) sooner, maybe sgs is good for me. What do you think?

 

2) The same questions applies to bandos armour, its price is not very high right now, so I can get it. Is, in my situation, worthy? what do you think?.

 

3) I have 2 problems: prayer and summ. Even is I got the money to lvl both, I don't have the time, so I will focus just in one. What do you think is best? (In fact, ranged is a problem too, I will just lvl it to 70 for now)

Barrows armour such as Verac's would be more than sufficient if you can't afford/don't want to spend money on Bandos.

Before I answer your questions I'd just like to make it very clear this is just my opinion and by no means fact. It's quite possible many others will disagree with me, so you really shouldn't make a decision just based on my post.

I don't think it's worth it, the other Godswords are much cheaper and hit just as high (Armadyl even higher sometimes) so I really don't think it's worth buying. I know you want it for the spec, but if you use SS (Soul Split right?) then you really don't need it. You should just get 68 Summoning to gain access to Bunyips.

Sgs is still pretty expensive (25M atm I think?) and is crashing (not long ago it was worth 33M), so you'll probably end up losing money in a sword that you don't really need.

Well like wartoc said in the post above Veracs is just as good defensively and gives Prayer bonuses, and it's significantly cheaper than Bandos. But I still think Bandos is worth getting, Jagex is updating armours this month and basically armours are going to be divided into three classes: offensive, defensive and hybrid.

I think they've already confirmed Bandos is going to be an offensive armour, so it'll likely become better than Veracs and will possibly rise in price. So might be worth buying a set now, but it's a bit like gambling - it might be a good investiment if after the update the armour becomes pretty good, or a terrible investiment if the update fails to make it better or makes it worse than it is now.

I thought you already had 95 Prayer for SS? If you do then you don't need to continue training it, unless of course you want the cape. Should probably train Summoning to at least level 68. If you don't have 95 Prayer yet and when you said you use SS you were referring to something else, then I think you should focus in Prayer.

@Micael: I'm sorry for the confusion, with SS I mean Saradomin Sword. I'm on 70 prayer. Many thanks for you kind and detailed response. I know this is always matter of opinion, but is what I want, hear the opinion of people that probably know a lot more than I do.

I figured I'd give my lil opinion too =]

 

I personally got my chaotic maul just a couple days ago. To be honest, its frikking amazing..

But I only use it for bossing. For regular slayer i still use my sgs.

 

Sgs is more of a luxury weapon.. You don't really need it =/ But its passive is pretty decent if you've got cash just laying around, doing nothing, there's no prob in getting it (who doesn't love constantly pietying your task, w/o needing pots?). Although, in your case, you might want to spend any cash you get on your pray.

 

Bandos over barrows anyday.

With the recent update, bandos is pretty awesome =], And barrows being hybrid classed now is kinda crap for pvm, imo.

Even before, the maintenance on barrows was terrible and not worth it.

 

I personally prefer prayer.

Get around 68 summoning or so for yak and yip pouches.

Then focus on getting 92 pray for soul split. Then 95 for turm.

I really enjoy my soul split =D

 

92 prayer might seem really far away... but just keep at it.

Everytime you get like 5-10m cash, just buy dbones and use them on an altar

 

Remember to do herb runs, weekly misc, and stuff like that and you'll rake in cash soon enough =D

As it stands Soulsplit isnt too great anymore, dont focus on it until you have all of the other combat goals.
