Griefclaw Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) I want to range Elvarg and have 40 range, 40 def. My equipment is full d hide without the coif, carapace coif, carapace boots, the f2p defense ring, normal clan cape, my food is swordfish and i had a range pot and def pot. Used the two range prayers for damage and accuracy with bronze bolts and normal crossbow. I was expecting it to take a little bit but not to do absolutly no damage i did jack **** to it. I didnt die but have watched some vids and others seem to hit fine with stats around mine. Am i doing anything wrong its quite annoying that i couldnt hit anything basically on it. Oh i had a power ammy. I dont want to melee did that already on another acc and im not maging it, dont think its my level so yeah any advice would help. Edited April 30, 2013 by Griefclaw Quote
Army of One Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Problem is, bronze bolts are tier 1 gear and would probably hit about the same on a guard. You could probably mage it better in rune armour with wind strike. But if you truly wish to range it, i think your out of luck. Quote
Micael Fatia Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Yeah I think Army of One is right, the crossbow and the bolts must be the problem. Your levels seem fine at least, but then again I have no idea how much EoC changed Elvarg. Maybe try Amulet of Accuracy? Could help, who knows. Quote
Army of One Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 There's no point, Amulet of Accuracy is +3 ranged crit, while power ammy is +3 for all combat styles. Quote
Jyreeil Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Just quit being cheap and get a rune crossbow and mith or better bolts. Unfortunately you can't fire high level gem tipped bolts with a rune crossbow so you'll just have to settle for the regular ones. Quote

Unfortunately you can't fire high level gem tipped bolts with a rune crossbow so you'll just have to settle for the regular ones. But I think he's f2p, bronze bolts are best available for him. If you really want to range it, get the best arrow and shortbow. Pray protect from magic (I'm pretty sure that takes a chunk out of dragon fire) and bring best food available for f2p. I don't know how much his dragon fire will hit through prayer, but you're better off getting a rune sword and anti dragon shield. Just keep your attack and strength below your ranged level if you don't want to raise your combat. Quote
