So this last saturday I bought a Belkin N600 Dual-band router. It did not come with a setup CD, so I'm setting it up through the browser (Firefox, if that matters).

I've gone through the set-up process and get to the part where you set it up in the browser. The problem is that the setup says that it is having problems with the DNS settings.

Heres some information:

I'm running Windows 8 on a Dell Inspiron 660s

When I first set up the internet on this computer, we had to call our isp for the correct DNS/IP numbers for the ethernet connection, I had to go in and change the TCP/IPv4 properties. I'm wondering if those same numbers need to be used in this setup process.

I have an Arris modem.

If you need more information, let me know.

Any help is appreciated! :)

EDIT: I've decided that I'm going to return my router and try a different one, perhaps. I can connect just fine from modem to PC. (For some reason, modem to PS3 didn't work... came up with the same DNS error)

This is the guide you should be following. http://www.belkin.co...ticle?rnId=2780

It should pick up your IP address automatically from your modem.

Okay now I have a wired connection from my router to my PC. The router has a solid blue light now, instead of the amber light it had before. I'm gonna see if i can connect on my PS3 now.

EDIT: The PS3 was able to get an IP address but couldn't connect to the internet, it says:

An error occurred during the connectiion to the server. This is a DNS error.

I'm now trying to connect with an ethernet cable running from the router to the PS3.. same issues...

The error code I'm getting is 80710102. I've looked all over for a solution for that to no avail.

I got my desktop connected wirelessly to the router but still need help with the PS3.
