Connecting a Wiimote to my PC via Bluetooth

I'm having the worst time trying to get this to work. I feel like I've read every tutorial online and it just doesn't seem to connect.

 

So, I go through the general setup, Add Device, and all that and that part works just fine. Nintendo-RVL-CNT-01 shows up in my devices. The lights continue to flash on the Wiimote (is that good or bad? I really don't know) but I get no sort of recognition from it in WiinRemote or GlovePIE.

 

Along with that, once I add the device, if I turn my Wiimote off (pop a battery out quick) and then try and reconnect pressing 1 and 2, the lights blink for a while then go dark.

 

Any ideas on how to get this running? I've tried updating all my drivers, restarting my computer in just about every way, I just don't know.

Pretty sure you need software to interface with the controller. I don't have my laptop so I can't look it up, Google.

Do you not need Bluetooth specifically for using Wiimotes on the PC? I am guessing you have followed a tutorial online or something? Which have you used? :P

I use DarwiinRemote and it's been great so far. If you have bluetooth it should work fine.
