reepicheep Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 This seems like a good a time as any to revive this thread, what with the year almost ending and most people will have sent out their applications by now. If you're not going to university, 's cool. You can post here in the thread along with the cool kids I am almost done with my first year of studying mathematics. It's awesome! Quote
Goggie Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Going into final year of History undergrad, then maybe the year after a Medieval Masters. Quote
Arianna Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) If all goes well, the only thing I'll have to study will be the 2013 tax code and any updates to laws. :P fudge yeah accountancy. White-colla office highrollaz for the win (cit.) Edited June 24, 2013 by Arianna Quote
Dad Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Well I fudgeed up high school, so I'm currently getting all the smart-guy credits I that neglected to secure on paper. Then I hope to do pharmacology or bio-medical science. Part of me wants to do surgery but the road's too long and, truth be told, I'm sorta squeamish and think I'd be too busy cringing to cut some guy's bones. :P Quote

Instead of surgery there's always podiatry! Quote
reepicheep Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 I study electrical engineering. What does that involve? Is it the kind of electrical engineering that has to do with circuit-board sized things? Quote
20000_Posts Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I study electrical engineering. What does that involve? Is it the kind of electrical engineering that has to do with circuit-board sized things? It's pretty broad, there's a lot of more specific fields you can specialize in. Integrated circuits are what I find interesting, there's large scale power, wireless communication, signal processing, really anything that has to do with electronics you can specialize in. Quote
Cxkslei Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I'll hopefully be finishing Psychology BA in a year and a half. Guys make sure you like what you chose. Changing majors is a headache. Also get involved in Student Life (Clubs and stuff), they can be fun. Quote
Hunter Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Just finished a year of Physics, Architecture, ICT and Art. Sticking with Physics next year, as well as ICT, and picking up Maths. Architecture and Art are not for me. (A levels) Quote
Nitua Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I plan on studying computer science. Something I've always been interested in :). Quote
reepicheep Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 I plan on studying computer science. Something I've always been interested in :). I nearly ended up studying computer science but then about a week before the registration deadline I decided something more fundamental like mathematics would be more fun :P Quote
20000_Posts Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I plan on studying computer science. Something I've always been interested in :). If you don't already have experience, I'd start practicing java or a C derivative before you get into the program. I got to intermediate C++ and changed majors (computer engineering to electrical) because I wasn't able to keep up. A lot of the really great dudes in the classes all did java in high school and picked everything up quickly. Quote

It's mathematics that goes boom! Quote

Fox Totem Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 After the summer i will prepare myself to pass the exam for a CPA license in the USA. (certified public accountant) Then I will study for the exam for a CA license in Canada. (chartered accountant) Unless that is not what I need for Canadian laws - then I'll probably have to go to school somewhere in Canada for courses that will qualify me for a different license. It's not clear to me yet. Quote
Leo Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Finished my last high school exam this morning, going into mathematics first year come September. Quote
