Icthlarin's Little Helper quest problem!

So I just wanted to start the quest Icthlarin's Little Helper down in the Kharidian Desert. I have all the items that this site said to have, even the recommended ones, and I went to talk to the Wanderer and she freaked out over my cat, and then asked for me to take it away and the chat between us ended. She didn't say anything about items or me helping her, it just ended. I tried all the other chat starters, nearly everything, but nothing!

I play in the new RS3, so maybe the quest changed a bit? I don't know, but this is bothering the hell out of me and it's a prerequisite for so many quests that I can't start because I can't do this one.

It sucks, I'm like trying to start and I keep drinking all the water so I keep having to run back to Nardalf to refill my water bags.

 

Please can someone help me out?!

Have you tried picking up the cat after she freaks out? Not sure if it'll work but it's worth a try.

Yeah you can't have your cat out while you're talking to her, and I'm pretty sure it can't be in your inventory either. Should be a bank in Nardah if you've done that quest.

Yeah I have but still nothing.

 

Yeah you can't have your cat out while you're talking to her, and I'm pretty sure it can't be in your inventory either. Should be a bank in Nardah if you've done that quest.

I've tried to without the cat. She recognized the cat smell but still I got nothing out of it, even tried all those chat options.

When she freaks out select the "Why? What's your problem with it?" chat option then pick up the cat. If you talk to her after that you should be able to continue.

If you bank the cat it doesn't work.

That guide offers the exact same advice as the Sal's guide just worded slightly differently, what the OP had to do was pick up the cat and then talk to the wanderer with the cat in his/her inv.

I'm having a similar issue but I can't pick up my cat. I tried logging and it didn't work and I tried leaving the desert and it didn't work and I tried to get several new cats and it didn't work.

This is sad. I'm having the same exact issue.ive asked 5 moods and they have no idea how to fix it. The fact this problem has been happening for 4 years I doubt its ever getting fixed.
