Sobend Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) Well now bonds have been out for some time and we've had time to get rid of our knee jerk reactions, what are your opinions on bonds? The update was one of the biggest updates in the going on thirteen year history of the game so we all have some sort of reaction. When I first saw the update I was not too pleased. Runescape had become the game that for years it had criticized. Even though I no longer really play on a continuous basis it was deflating. I basically called it quits. I started to get a little happier when I realized that older versions of Runescape were untouched. Bonds also meant that I did not have to spend real life money on membership (something I haven't done in awhile and don't plan on doing). So basically I realized I could use my RS3 account (which I care little about now) to fund my playing of RS2. This seems like a nice idea. I am thinking I might just use my RS3 account to keep up with quests and to make money (if necessary) and play on RS2 for fun. This has opened up a lot of possibilities for me so in that way I am happy with the update even if I feel it has ruined the current version of the game. My only concern is that they introduce bonds to RS2. With the updates being added to RS2 (God Wars, really?) I feel that bonds will be added sometime. In that case I may have to retreat to classic (they will never touch my Runescape Classic, ha! :P) Now that I've shared my thoughts, what are your opinions on this? -Leaf- Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 If they were untradeable and sold by an NPC ingame, they'd be awesome. Of course, that would never ever happen. Quote
Lonelywolf Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 i only just realised rs3 is out at the moment so ya now im checking on bonds they seem stupid though Quote
O hai im KAMIL Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 TBH I don't mind them. Gold traders will continue doing what they're doing since they offer more gold for less money, and this way you can now purchase membership without spending real money. I know it's considered RWT but there's no other way this could have been possible, an NPC that sold it and it would be untradeable would essentially allow people to get free membership with no money going to Jagex, which is a bad thing (and never going to happen). Pureosaur Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I'm happy with it. I can put my RS3 bank to good use now. Quote
Luvandpower Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 From what I have heard gold farmers have started to sell bonds and somehow still come out on top profit wise. (or they merch them/sell the profit geepee? Not sure ) I like how jagex is giving people a chance to earn geepee and to get rewarded for it. I think this is a good step for the economy. Quote
