Sobend Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) So over the summer I got this new laptop. It's not remarkable, but it gets the job done for me. Anyway, I first played Runescape on it 3-4 weeks ago and it worked remarkably. I have never had a computer run Runescape this fast in my life. I was pretty pleased. However Saturday I logged in and it was really slow. I turned the settings all the way down to lowest and it was only minimal improvement. I thought this problem might go away with time but it still exists. I don't think my internet connection has dropped significantly enough for this to happen and I streamed a two hour movie from netflix yesterday with no problems. What is going on? Memory issues? Anyway, this is probably simple but I don't know anything about technology. So I could use your advice. And I want to write a guide before I leave for my parents' Tuesday afternoon, so the quicker the better. Edited November 26, 2013 by Sobend
Leo Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Check to make sure you're not in Safe Mode; I find sometimes when the client accidentally switches into it that it gets pretty laggy.
Sobend Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) I don't think I am in safe mode because usually it would tell you on your screen, although it may be different for this windows 8 animal. Well I just deleted my Jagex cache (I deleted the two preference files) and no change I reinstalled Java and walla - it worked! :) Topic closed. Edited November 26, 2013 by Sobend
