How did you die first?

I thought we would all take a trip down memory lane and talk about how we first died.

 

The first time I died I was wandering around Draynor and a jail guard got me. I was paralysed (not literally) and probably could have easily escaped the situation but did not. I also was unaware of banks at the time and was carrying everything I had gathered at the time - not a good scenario. Anyway, I was somewhat relieved that I appeared in lumbridge because I thought that if you died it would be game over.

I've got a two first deaths, I'm not sure actually happened first so i'll say both

One was when I was at the wizards tower, someone told me to attack the wizards, as they drop good stuff. You can guess what happened next.

The other was when I was walking past the al kharid mine, and I saw a yellow rock. I thought to myself "Is that gold??? I'm going to go and prospect that" and when a scorpion attacked me, I didn't know what to do so I x-logged. When I got back on a while later I was in lumbridge.

My first death is rather anti-climactic: Level 2 Man in lumbridge.

 

My first death as a member was to a tribesman in Brimhaven... Poisoned me and I died shortly afterwards.... That was about 6 years ago :P.

I had just started playing, and I think I had trained on some Goblins for a little while before traveling down the road from Lumbridge to Varrock(although I had no idea where that road would lead). I was just peacefully walking along, but I guess I got too close to the stone circle and I got attacked by a dark wizard. But I had no idea why I was losing hitpoints - no sound effects, and the blue ball from the wizard's attack apparently wasn't explanatory enough for me. Next thing I knew, I awoke in Lumbridge, all my coins were gone, and I was totally lost. Seriously. Good times. :D

I don't really remember so well. I think a guard killed me just south of Varrock. I'm not sure what I was doing there, but I recall thinking it was another player because I didn't know the Wilderness was the only PvP area. I think it was early on a Saturday morning.

 

I had to really dust off the shelves to remember that one :P

Yeah those were really dangerous, fight one and you are screwed. You'd have no idea what they could do until it happened. A friend of mine once got poisoned by one of those, so he had to log out and get a clanmate to deliver antipoison to him. I'm assuming they've been made less dangerous since eoc though.

I took on a Goblin first thing, thinking "It's only a few levels higher than me, I'll level up much faster this way!" I even had a guy come up next to me when I was near death telling me "Stop you're going to die." but yeah, I didn't listen. I was so close too. I was under the impression you had to start the entire game over(like level reset) if you died at the time so I was really mad for a split second when I died.

 

What was actually really cool is about 10 minutes after I died, another person randomly started following me, asked if I was new, and gave me 10k, armour, and a bunch of helpful starter items.

I went to Karamja for the first time and I thought I could take on a scorpion at level 12 with a bronze scimmy and wooden shield, and lost those along with a bronze sword and like 200 gp. I was so sad. :(

 

 

 

Then like 2 hours later I managed to get myself a bronze longsword and felt really happy.

I was once poisoned by a tribesman, but there is a way you can survive it - I made a mad dash for the TzHaar fight caves, knowing that if I died in there, I woulnd't lose my items. I'm glad to say it worked :D

My first death was either a Varrock Guard or that bear in the cage from Varrock sewers. Can't remember which.

 

At that point I had no idea how to get my starting items back so I made a new account. I never went back to the first account.

THIS THIS SO MUCH THIS

I lost full Rune armour and a bunch of random stuff because of that thing... poison hitting at 11 damage per hit, compared to the 6 maximum from a super poisoned weapon...

Just like most people my first death was to a Lumbridge Goblin. Second to the Varrock circle dark Wizards if I'm not mistaken.

First members death was to the Death Plateau trolls, in like my first or second day of members. Lost parts of my hardly earned Rune set. :(

Wtf that was me. Stop stealing my stories . Anyway, I don't think the tribesmen have poisoned spears in EOC (if anyone wants to find out the hard way be my guest).

Oh man this is going back. I don't remember my first death but my earliest memory comes from me entering the Wilderness with some friends from school and they betrayed me :(

My first death was the giant scorpion in the falador mine. I'd have to say it was a sad one as I lost my pickaxe and armor.

 

PS: The tribesman can still poison you although it isn't that strong anymore.

man i remember this as yesterday! i was new and my friend had smithed me full iron and gave me a team cape too and he walked with me through gielinor. we went from lumby all the way 2 draynor, falador, wilderness ditch and then to the varrock anvil where he smithed the armour. then we went to the wizard tower and i lagged i misclicked on a wizard i died and i ragequit for that day.

I was an absolute wussy in runescape until I got members. I died about 6 months after I made my first account to greater demons. Lost 70k and full rune and a gmaul. Made me sooooo angry.

Oh I started laughing as soon as I read this, remembering how silly this sounds now.

 

Being on for about 45 minutes for the first time ever in 2004, I managed to stumble my way to Varrock. Now I don't know about you, but in my early days, I always thought that trip took forever to walk. Whenever I saw the dark Wizards outside I knew that I was closing in on the city. Well one day someone told me to attack one of the city guards near the big bank. For whatever reason I did (I was around level 6 at the time.) after about 10 seconds I realized that I didn't stand a chance and started to flee. The kid who convinced me into initiating the attack chased after me (I guess my iron armour was in his best interest) because he followed me as I ran. At this time I didn't know that the guard wouldn't chase me until I was dead, So I ran the same path I did to get to Varrock in the first place. Feeling a little nervous I took the wrong curve running out and landed right in the heart of the dark wizards. Since magic is super-effective against armour and my health was already 75% gone, I didn't stand a chance. I was dead and frustrated.

 

To admit a guilty pleasure, nowadays I still go back every once and awhile and demolish all of the dark wizards and city guards just because I can. So for you to keep a personal note, If you see a level 183 running around in Varrock killing the guards and wizards saying "This is for 04!".....

Haha my first death was definitely trying to run by the mages outside of varrock and I got pwned.

 

Man those were the days and then i also remember a significant death early in my RS career when i got lured into wildy but i didn't bring any items and this kid still killed me; and I was like "hey i don't have items man", it was v sad :/

My first death on my first account was in the wilderness. A couple of players dressed as wizards killed me, and I was pretty upset about it. Or that was what I thought had happened, what actually happened was that I walked to Varrock and got killed by actual wizards (not players) at the stone circle.

 

My last death on that account was in the wilderness where I lost my amulet of glory and my best armor set (maybe rune, probably mithril or adamant). I rage-quitted and started a new account a few days later.

 

The first death on my latest account was in Edgeville dungeon, I wanted to go to the resource dungeon there that was inside the wilderness part. But I was killed by the skeletons while trying to get through the gate. That gate had this warning telling me that it leads to the wilderness and that it's dangerous, I couldn't click it away because of the skeletons. I was killed because of a warning that I might get killed...
