There are no songs that make me cry by just listening to them. However there are songs that when used in certain situations can make me cry, but there needs to be something else happening for me to shed a tear. Movies or games for example, or songs used in tributes to people I liked and have passed away.

A couple examples:

- Braveheart's theme song

- Now We Are Free (Gladiator's theme song)

- Suteki Da Ne (FFX song, it's used in emotional and memorable moments of the game + dat nostalgia)

- The Price of Freedom (see above, except the game is Crisis Core)

- Aerith's Theme (^^ - FFVII)

- Here Without You (song used in an official tribute video of a wrestler I liked and died)

Songs like Nothing Else Matters or Wake Me Up When September Ends have that sad vibe too, but they don't even get close to making me cry because I don't associate them with anything sad I've seen.

I don't really cry very quickly to stuff like this, but Queen's song 'Mother Love' is absolutely one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. Beyond that, I can't really think of any.

I don't cry when I listen to music, but here are some that give me nostalgia:

You've Got a Friend in Me - Randy Newman

Lullaby - George Gershwin (not sure why this gives me nostalgia)

Newbie Melody - Sad but true :P

When you say a song makes you cry do you mean you cry every time you listen to it or only in certain situations? I don't think a song alone has ever made me sad.

The two songs that make me tear up a bit are...

Joanna Newsom - '81

And...

Deafheaven - Dream House

Wut.

I can see where you're coming from on the first song I guess by the lyrics, but..... on that second song I made it 3 minutes in and all I can hear is overly distorted guitar with some screaming in the background.

The lyrics for "Dream House" should help you understand a little(little little) bit more.

Hindered by sober restlessness. Submitting

to the amber crutch. The theme in my aching

prose. Fantasizing the sight of Manhattan;

that pour of a bitter red being that escapes a

thin frame. The rebirth of mutual love. The

slipping on gloves to lay tenderly.

"I'm dying."

- "Is it blissful?"

"It's like a dream."

- "I want to dream."

When Dom dies in Gears of War 3 ;____;

Doesn't make me cry, but when you read the backstory it's incredibly saddening. And then when you go on his Facebook page and you see how passionate he was about what he did, how excited he was for BF4...It makes you think about how life can just be so tragic at times.

Battlefield 4 had one of the greatest soundtracks I've heard and the moments they used the Kjell theme were absolutely breathtaking.

Not sure of the name, artist but it makes me tear up, its called "call me" features on the third last episode of cowboy bebop. I don't cry at songs, cause I'm a man.
