-Leaf- Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) This thread is for discussion of the best routes for completing the Jack of Trades aura, with the goal of creating a guide detailing the best ways to use this aura. With the recent update, the Jack of Trades aura has 3 tiers, requiring you to gain xp in 10, 15, and 20 skills respectively in 3 hours. Fastest routes (complete the aura as quickly as possible) (Please suggest your own ideas): 10 Skills: Teleport to varrock (magic) Chop a tree (woodcut) Burn the log (firemaking) Fletch an arrow/bolt, or chop another log and fletch it (fletching) Pickpocket a guard (thieving) Kill a guard (attack, strength, defence, hp) Bury bones (prayer) 15 Skills: 20 Skills: Other routes (complete the aura while doing other tasks) (Please suggest your own ideas): Farming/Dailies, 20 Skills: Teleport to Trollheim (magic) Climb down rocks (agility) Pick and replant Herbs (farming) Clean herbs (herblore) Lodestone to Catherby, catch a fish (fishing) Run to bank, Pickpocket a man (thieving) Kill a man (attack, Strength, defence, HP) Bury bones (prayer) Buy seaweed and pineapples from general store guy (irrelevant for JoT) Chop a tree (woodcutting) Make a fire (firemaking) Cook your fish (cooking) Farm the patches in Catherby, Ardougne, Draynor (irrelevant for JoT) Teleport to Mobilising Armies, harvest a wisp (divination) Run to Ooglog, mine sandstone (mining) Make flasks (crafting) Wicked hood (runecrafting) - also divination if using Nature altar Fletch an arrow/bolt (fletching) Summon a familiar (summoning) Easy ways to get XP, sorted by skill (Please suggest your own ideas): Attack - kill something with combat XP set to shared Defence - kill something with combat XP set to shared Strength - kill something with combat XP set to shared Constitution - kill something Ranged - thrown weapon or ammo-free weapon like crystal/zaryte bow Prayer - bury a bone Magic - teleport, alch, superheat Cooking - grind cod, cut a leaping trout Woodcutting - cut a regular tree with axe on toolbelt, divine location Fletching - fletch a log, make 1 bolt, make 1 arrow Fishing - games necklace to barbarian outpost, lodestone to catherby Firemaking - burn a log, inferno adze Crafting - cut a sapphire Smithing - superheat iron or gold, imcando pickaxe Mining - ardougne cape teleport to monastery, combat bracelet teleport to champion's guild, divine location, red sandstone Herpderplore - clean a herb Agility - Toy Mouse, barehanded butterfly (phoenix lair teleport), agility shortcuts Thieving - pickpocket man or guard Slayer - no easy way to do this; not sure if jade vine works Farming - launch Grand seed pod, pick a fruit tree/berry bush Runecraft - Wicked hood Hunter - barehanded butterfly (phoenix lair teleport), divine location Construction - oak chair on workbench (2 planks) Summoning - summon a familiar, cast a scroll Dungeoneering - DG is a minigame not a skill so it doesn't count (seriously though, there's no way to gain Jack of Trades credit with dungeoneering) Divination - create something with Energy Edited January 31, 2014 by -Leaf- Quote
Dei Wei Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Here's a video of someone doing 24 skills in 56 seconds. It's a bit old, but you could add in making something from divination to get it upto 25 skill in a minute. Quote
Bwauder Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) It is possible to do Dung in a JoT run, but a limit of opportunites for most to lamps/other reward xp (yes they do count for JoT). Theoretically you could go to a new Resource Dungeon & open that for XP but realistically most have done all of those that they can. As far as rewarded XP, alot of it is listed elsewhere but for a 99 skill on basic (10) JoT i was getting 9703 - on Superior (20 skills) the JoT reward was 24666 XP, can't reliably give anything lower. Edit: to include XP Edited January 28, 2014 by Bwauder Quote
