Sobend Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) There is an odd issue happening with my computer currently. Basically what happens is that the Runescape game gets progressively slower and slower and to reset this I have to uninstall and reinstall Java.. At first I can play very well at highest detail settings. Then it gets slower and slower. I am currently on safe mode and look like I am getting 2-3 fps. This has happened since I began playing on my new laptop. It used to take a couple months to be unbearable, now it only takes a week. I do not get similar issues when on Runescape Classic and 07 scape. Can someone help? Edited March 6, 2014 by Sobend Quote
Egghebrecht Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 that smells like virus/process eating your RAM to me check the amount of RAM used by rs/java while running and check the amount of ram allocated to java in the java control panel Quote
Sobend Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Currently I have over 32,000 MB of disk storage allocated for Java while running Runescape. Shouldn't that be enough? Quote

Egghebrecht Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) On my control panel it says 118 MB. hmm in your java control panel can you set it to 1024mb allocated to java? I have no idea how to do that on windows however I tweaked my settings too years ago after getting jmod advice about certain problems with runescape on mac running out of RAM but seeing that it's only 118mb it's using I don't think it's that make a thread on the rsof and see if other people have similar problems and run a good virusscan because it still smells like the problems caused by RAM eating virusses back in the 90ies Edited March 9, 2014 by Egghebrecht Quote
Sobend Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 By the way, just so we're on the same page, you're talking about this? Tonight I'm going to run a virus scan and such and also reinstall Java so I can play the new quest coming out tomorrow. Quote

I'm guessing Egg is talking about the amount of RAM Java is allowed to use, not hard disk space. It seems like http://empireminecraft.com/threads/guide-how-to-allocate-more-memory-for-java-windows-mac.20011/ could be a solution for you. Quote
