-Leaf-
http://services.rune...65329733,goto,1 Open Trollomon's RWT store and click the "Earn Runecoins" button. There will be a list of 3rd party advertisers who want you to download suspicious software, send them credit card details, give them your mobile phone number, or do surveys to get Runecoins. Several of the offers are fake. I tried one of the surveys that looked harmless enough, and after completing the survey it just threw another survey at me, without paying out the Runecoins. sooo..... Has Jagex gone too far? Partnering with scammers and malware distributors? Edited April 7, 2014 by -Leaf-
Bwauder
Standard practice for any of these free "x" if you just fill out this survey/trial this product.... don't touch it with a 20' pole. As far as the ideology rather than Jagex driven i blame the yankee $ connection , "its a successful business model, so lets just do it". The various sites linked to it are probably controlled by a 3rd party site that supplies the service rather than chosen by Jagex. Hopefully this concept disappears quickly when several hundred people end up hacked or something, but I'm not holding my breathe. Edit: after actually reading the rsof, i see Supersonic Ads is an affiliate, but had to lol @ all the hidden posts in the requested feedback, somehow i dont think much of it is positive. tea pls
This is nothing new in the MMO world. Just an example of Jagex following suit. The money they make off of the advertising is substantially larger than the cost to give a few coins to some players. Hilarious enough, there are some programs out there that fill these out automatically for you... i won't go any further on the subject. It's that Jagex is putting their own customers at risk of being infected with spyware or having their credit card details stolen.

chaosor
While it's nothing new, I find it pathetic that Jagex is resorting to such tactics.

Probably, but Jagex would likely get around the lawsuits by pinning the blame on the third parties.
Aabid
I remember MapleStory had something like this too. It was pretty legit though. I mean obviously some of them were fishy but some of them did work. Not sure what to say for this. There must be some legit ones no?

I mean obviously some of them were fishy but some of them did work. Not sure what to say for this. There must be some legit ones no? Yeah, there are legit ones in there. One of my friends got around 700 runecoins from doing this. However, another friend reported getting spyware from it, so he is avoiding it. This is nothing new in the MMO world. The one got 700 or 800 runecoins by doing this, but the other one got spyware from his first try, and didn't try anymore.
tea pls
Most of the pages are actually just ads that you are 'offered', there really is a system to this, sometimes to you have to look for very tiny links saying things like 'continue without' or 'next step' could be incredibly small text. The bigger ones are more legit things I.E. buying Netflix through the offer. Obviously don't download anything the offers try to tell you, but even some of the 'download this software' ones you can complete without actually downloading anything. Also providing false information, will not subject you to the RS terms of service. Use a fake name/address on your offers to maintain your personal identity. djpailo
I can say I've done quite a few. I watched the videos which is harmless enough. They all have a mute button so I carry on doing whatever I was doing. The android apps work as follow: -You click the earn button -Email with a link sent to you -Open link, your default browser opens it -Google play store opens - Download app -Run app -Get runecoins -(uninstall app) Most of them work, though a few don't. I recommend running security software after each app, just to be sure :). I think one or two I didn't even need to download. I didn't bother trying any survey. -Leaf-
Anyone know of any offers that work and don't require an ipad or android? 99% of the offers never pay up.
Hwanin
I guess, the safest way to get runecoins is just to buy a bond. :glasses:

FrankDDougherty
Scams are everywhere; even on ads. I just hope this issue be treated (vaccinated like viruses) before bigger problems occur.
