What scams have you guys fallen for in the past? For the sake of discussion we'll include lures and wilderness BSings.

Once I fell for the archer's tower scam. I was fully aware of the scam and that the guy was trying to scam me. I wanted to walk in and make him think I was going to actually fall for it and then back out at the last second and say "ha!" Unfortunately I hung around too long and the archers killed me. I only lost rune legs and a berzerker, but I was pissed that the guy was behind his computer laughing at my idiocy.

I fell for the unid scam. I was also aware of this scam but for some reason did not take the precautions I should have taken (filling up your inventory with 27 items and noted unid herbs you were trying to buy). Was pretty mad to see that I had bought 600 guams :/

Like everybody else here, I fell for the traditional remove item at last second from trade screen too. It was before I gained membership so I was a new player. The guy had a name like O0O-----oo00--oo0 so I couldn't report him properly.

Besides that I can't think of anything else. Never been lured or BSed successfully.

When I was younger, I fell for the trust trade scam. A few times. Thought I'd beaten it until one day a scammer had his friend trade him stuff pretending to be a random, so like an idiot I believed it was legit.

I fell victim to an item swap...i was very low levels, still ~50cmb, i wanted to train firemaking and was buying bulk amounts of yews from players using gp i had earned from fishing lobsters and selling to other players (there was no Grand Exchange). I was about to buy roughly 20k yew logs, i was beyond frustrated at this point and wanted to find them quick, had a rough time selling lobs or something, few players wanted way too much for what i wanted, until someone had exactly what i wanted. He showed the logs in trade, and i put the money up. The trade was cancelled and i was traded again, he said something along the lines of 'sorry about that' and immediately placed 20k willow logs in to trade. Without double checking, i gave him a considerable profit for a pile of garbage logs. I still trained firemaking with those logs...but at a much slower rate...this was a devastating loss to a relatively new F2P scaper.

I took it as a learning experience and from that day i am always double checking, sometimes triple. Thankfully the Grand Exchange has solved a lot of that problem unless you are at the buy limit, but i am a patient person and will wait a few days for things to buy in the GE for the total i need.

You live and you learn :P

Edit: I'm going to add that i have had attempts at scamming multiple times, one most notable was a player wearing a completionist cape asking me to help him with a quest...'a pressure plate in blood runs deep'...i played a long while standing at the GE bank, eventually telling him i was aware of his ruse and that i knew there was no pressure pads in B.R.D. he proceeded to log out. Hahahaha. His name was lvi SmiIe.

I remember way back in 2006 or so, I actually fell for the 'armor trimming' scam. My iron armour that I'd spent days slaving away for was gone. Then, as vengeance, I successfully performed this scam on another unsuspecting player not even a few days after.

Don't do Runescape, kids.

I lost my mith armor early on due to a lure. I teamed up with this pure and we decided to go deep Wilderness pking together. At around level 35 he started attacking me. He had a rune scimmy and I didn't have much food so I realized I was toast. It took him 15-20 levels to bring me down but he did it eventually. At the time I thought it was a shame because it my mith armor impressed all of my real life friends :P Now I think it's a shame because if I had just stopped panicking I might have realized that I could hug the trees and get away because he was only meleeing. If that had happened to me a year later I would have been able to drag him all over the Wilderness because I was in a clan by then. I've also fallen for the run-of-the-mill remove items at last second scam, but I think I didn't lose more than 50k each time so it wasn't a big deal, just decreased my hope in humanity a little.

As for scamming people myself, the closest I've done is lure people from Dark Warrior's Fortress to west of Bandit Camp so my clan could kill them. I consider that fair game though, it's all within the Wilderness and it's ultimately your responsibility to know when the single combat zone goes to multi (and where you go past the no-teleport line).

Yeh i've fallen for the remove items last second, as well as in 06 or something when people would put money like over 100k then last second change it to 1004 and if you didn't pay attention it looked the same

I got lured into Lumbridge Swamp, without a lantern and lost my Robin/Ranger set which back then was worth a considerable amount (About the same as some rares were!)
