Sobend
What are your guys' proudest in-game accomplishment(s)? Something that you felt great after you accomplished it. It can be anything, like getting a level, a comp cape, killing a boss, a community thing, etc. Mine would probably be 99 Defense. It had long been on my list due to the importance of defense in tanking. I haven't had members since 2006 so I had to finish it in freeplay obviously, which was murder. I also got it during my inactive stretch of 2007-2013. During the summers I would play for 1.5-2 hours each day to get 50k defense experience. Even though it was a short period of time, it was such a pain to log in and get that since I wasn't really interested in the game at that point. What saved me was the reintroduction of the wilderness in 2011 and more importantly the shunning of Revenants into a dungeon. It allowed me to AFK at Ice Warriors in the wilderness for the 50k xp a day I got in the summer since players never frequented the spot. Still took a few years though since I couldn't will myself to log in for more than two hours, even AFK. I finally got it in the summer of 2012 and I was relieved to get it over with. Ironically, shortly after I achieved 99 Defense EOC came out and killed clanning, so I have not been able to tank with my 99 defense. The last time I tanked was a fun war between Sals Realm and some other clan, at which point I was 98 Defense. Honorable mentions: I led a clan back in the day, somewhat proud of that (although I was far from a perfect leader... ) My first 99, firemaking. I'm proud that I stuck through it and didn't give up. Even though firemaking is an easy 99, even before bonfires I had a knack for doing well in Sals steel war things and snowball fights (air strike fights). Probably because I was a high level but never the highest level, as the highest level was always piled first :P. Enough of me, I'd like to hear yours
tea pls
1. 99 Strength in October of 2007. - That is before much better strength training was available. I did these levels with a Dragon Scimitar and i believe it actually took me longer to acquire the sword (and ability to wield it) than to actually get the levels remaining to 99 (around 75 str when i did Monkey Madness in 2007). First 99 skill for me, but certainly was not my last! 2. Maintaining somewhat even stats throughout career - Other than going for 99 strength, my stat's have maintained a pretty even stature. Currently i have all of my skills within 1 level of each other. This requires some discipline as to what you must train. My goal is eventually to roll over as many 99's as i can around the time of Prifddinas release. :) Should be cool to see what achievements people hold in high regard compared to others :)
Guitarguy
-Beating Monkey Madness. That last boss guy was torturous at my ~70 combat level, and I was running for my life throughout the whole quest. Probably because I didn't do RuneScape things the orthodox way. -.- -Slaying the evil chicken and making his corpse into a meat pie.
Twist of Fate
99 Construction. Darn that was like 5 years ago as of last May. It took a whole lot of skilling and I had a lot of support from the community for that and I'm grateful. Also getting the quest cape back in 2007 which was my first cape of achievement and 99 woodcutting in 2008 which was my first 99. Let's just say I take pride in some capes more than others. Micael Fatia
I don't really have any pride in my in-game achievements that required nothing more than lots of time grinding. I'm happy I maxed melee and combat some time later, but I wouldn't say I'm proud because I didn't really require any thinking, quick-reflexes and any other kind of effort. Just time, patience, time, some persistence, and did I mention time yet? But still if I had to pick one it'd be 99 Prayer I guess. Purely because when I was a noob back in 2006-07 I never thought I'd ever have enough money to afford it. 99 Attack was nice too, first combat 99. The only accomplishments I pride myself in a little are all PvP related, both single and clan PKing. I like to think I was a decent F2P PKer pre-EoC, and I was really happy when my first gallery reached 100+ kills. I ended up posting 400-500ish kills here on Sal's spread over 3 or 4 different galleries and countless smaller topics (including random kills and clan section war topics), and it led to some old PvP section members to refer to me as Sal's #1 F2P PKer and the King of the PvP section (this is why I love my RuneScape King and Witch King titles lol). I dunno, I never felt I did anything amazing but having people complimenting my kill achievements is something I take a little pride in I guess. :P Also when in a Sal's Clan Section topic about the perfect clan I was picked as a member in a good number of clan section users lists, which is something I took pride in because at the time I was just an average level 105ish combat player. And when I was complimented in a 3xtermination vs Silverdawn and some other clan XshinobizX led (who later joined and eventually became DF's leader) for my good tanking. In the words of some of their members whenever XshinobizX called a pile on me he'd always get pissed off and start screaming about the lack of binds hitting me and how long it it took to get me killed. It's sad I can't find this topic anywhere anymore, it was probably the first war I was in I felt I had had any impact. We still lost, but oh well haha. Was a pretty weird war, I remember it was supposed to be some sort of training/tank-test war for all the clans involved, we didn't even fight at GDZ but in the Chaos Dwarves area instead. I also did pretty decently in some war against UBH (I think?) but I'm fairly sure in that case I was the only one getting complimented because they disliked every single other member of 3x. :P Edited July 23, 2014 by Micael Fatia
Shooter585
Getting 70 smithing from scratch (including mining the coal and steel) Making 100,000 gold amulets and alching them all (almost 10m xp) 99 range, only reason I got that though was so I wouldn't feel bad quitting. Some clan stuff I guess, I was a decent tank for my level. XshinobizX (who later joined and eventually became DF's leader) Haha never knew that, wasn't he the leader of Gods of War? They changed their name later I forget what to.

Jna
Think I'm proudest of quest cape, I loved quests since first day I joined RS and was very happy when I got it. Did most quests on release day since then. Apart from that I think my 90+ cape since I never thought I'd get this far and my Slayer cape, since its a skill I also like very much. Renegaderp
I'd have to agree with Jna. My account is almost 10 years old, though I have only been playing for about 2 cumulative. I remember starting off all confused, being unable to find flour or an egg for Cook's Assistant, and getting better and better. My most proud moment during the journey was undoubtedly killing Nomad on the day of release without the infamous Kyatt bug. I've gotten over 120M xp and 2,200 levels without getting another 99. The quest cape is in a way a symbol of my metamorphosis from a noob to the semi-noob that I am today. For some reason that was a very emotional post for me :')
FrankDDougherty
Good to hear all your in-game accomplishments. Mine? I couldn't pile it in a list not because I got so many accomplishments but because I got none. I didn't top in any game. I just finished DayZ and loves playing all day. Mohorak
Probably getting an untrimmed Defence skillcape when I had to get hundreds of thousands of bonus experience to get it before 99 Hitpoints. Got the last 50k free from Troll Invasion.
Army of One
I'd have to say trimming Defence with Divination, and becoming the first (recorded) Sals member to achieve 99 Divination. No 99 has felt quite the same except Agility.
FeedMyEgo
Getting 99 Fishing way back in the day. It was my first maxed skill in a time when 99s weren't THAT common. For some reason each subsequent 99 after that just didn't really feel special, so I would say that my first 99 was my proudest accomplishment. Nitua
My first 99, woodcutting way back in 09 right after ivy came out. Used it for the last level, rest of them were mostly yews and magics. Thats where I was most of the time when I was chatting in Sals fc with all of those wonderful wacky people.
