How do people gain so much experience in one day?

This doesn't have much to do with impressive XP gains but more of taking advantage of stockpiled rewards and such that would allow you to gain ridiculous amounts of experience in one day, as seen here.

 

I realize there are certain methods like Soul Wars where you can stockpile millions in experience and cash in your awards in one day, but some skills confuse me. How do you stockpile woodcutting experience for instance? And what about Dungeoneering experience? The only way I know of stockpiling Dungeoneering experience is through tokens, which you need to get Dungeoneering experience in order to obtain.

There was/is a glitch when changing your name that caused all the players XP to be 'gained' in a day

The record used to be 186M attack xp in a day, from cashing in a ton of Soul Wars Zeal. But recently, since Jagex released thousands of names, Runetrack started having a lot of glitches.

For some people, they appeared to gain outrageous amounts of experience in a day.

For others, myself included, RuneTrack almost completely reset.

 

Bottom line: It's not possible. Just a series of glitches.

Most of those are from a bug with runetrack and name changes.

As said above all of the records on Runetrack are from name change glitches.

Haha my favorite was when I was tracking a friend who claimed a single-letter name and it spiked up a few hundred mil exp overnight.
