I'm going to quit playing online on Xbox and hopefully start on Pc. With the Free Membership, free name changes and a lot of trailers and demos free, it seems better than Xbox online.

 

The problem with going purely pc is that games that aren't major releases come out very late on the platformer. EA is even talking about stopping support on the platform with its lower tier games (ex. dead space). There's also exclusives that are going onto PC less and less. Alan Wake on pc has been cancelled and it seems that Gears 2 and Halo 3 will never make it to the industry's oldest platform. Having a balance is best as you can see. You'll get all the benefits of the PC. and day one games. Hell, AC2 hasn't even made it to PC yet!

 

I didn't say I was going to quit Xbox forever, I'm just saying I'm going over to PC to play Online. If I see an awesome game (like Halo Reach) then sure I might buy it for Xbox. I'm just not going to renew my membership.

 

What do you guys think about the upcoming Vietnam War? Is it too soon or is it a saviour to the Call of Duty franchise? I for one think that it is too soon (a year after MW2) and think it should just wait a few more months on it. Hopefully a beta or demo will come out, so people can adjust the Multiplayer

There were two developers working on Call of Duty. Vietnam is coming out in summer? (Correct me if I'm wrong). But that seems like a perfectly reasonable amount of time for me.

Hmm. Looking into that Laptop now. Seems pretty good. I do need to buy a laptop myself to complete my gaming set up. It does actually seem.....pretty fudgeing good at a fair price for what comes with it.

 

Shall I or shall I not...I'll be able to afford it within the next month.

 

Reason for Edit: Never mind what I said here. I didn't know you could actually upgrade this. Because usually most "Express Family Chipset" whatever are not upgradable. Apparently this one is. ;D

Express Family Chipset is Intel's integrated graphics "card". Itself cannot be upgraded, but you can add a new card in your pci-e slot (in a desktop) and use that instead for a better gaming experience.

 

If you're on a laptop with the Express Family Chipset (like me!! wooo) you can't do anything about it, just gotta suck it up and game (or better, just save yourself the trouble and don't). :)

Ugh... the ending to Mass Effect 2 makes me want to rage. I haven't even gotten to it yet, but I'm reading all this stuff about how hard it is to keep everyone alive. Can't the game just decide who dies for me? I feel like a baby sitter, and a stressed out one at that.

I know. That's what stresses me out. It's like "YOU CHOSE WHO LIVES AND WHO DIES!!!!" and I'm all "do I have to? " It's not a problem with the game, I just hate being responsible for anyone except myself in video games. That's why I don't like RTS's.

TF2: lowest settings, 1024x768 (10-30 fps, if there's a lot of action or not).

It really depends. I've gotten really used to playing at low frames and yea I die a lotbut I always end up around top 5 on my team.

 

Beat DA:O. About 40 hours of playtime for just the main storyline.

 

I never can get myself to do side quests. :)

B) Quit the server.

 

If you go onto well known and fun TF2 servers, you ain't gonna be in the top 5 unless you are pretty damn good. Also, any server with DICEroll Mod = win.

 

Also has anyone played the Public Beta of R.U.S.E on Steam yet? It's an RTS and it's all about outsmarting and bluffing your opponents. It's absolutely great.

Just got out of a fun match of Age of Empires II with some of my friends. 3 Hours long, did pretty well for my first time playing in ages.

 

Borrowed Dragon Age: Origins from a friend of mine. Lets see how that goes. Hopefully my laptop will be able to run it just fine.

Well I'm usually an engineer so I just set up my stuff and camp there. Don't really need good frames for that. :)

Lower the resolution. Make sure in your graphics card properties (access from control panel) you've selected to keep aspect ratio. That way when you set it at a lower resolution it doesn't stretch the image and instead gives you the black bars. This means less pixels being rendered and easier on your card.

On lowest it looks great? I assume lowest is equivalent to/equal to the Xbox version, and that one looks terrible. D:
