Egghebrecht 370 Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) I have an imac, one of those fancy 27" retina 5k display ones to be exact. For all game purposes fine enough for me since pretty much all games I want to play are released for mac too, except assassins creed that is. Only AC2 and brotherhood were ever released for mac, the rest no word. And since I would like to finish ezio's story and maybe play the following installments too I was looking to buy a windows version just to play those games. With u(suck)play the hassle is already big enough to not even want to bother with using emulators so a clan bootcamp install seemed the best idea, if I only use if for steam and AC I wouldn't need anything but a bare windows anyway. So I went looking online for a retail version of winblows and i found they sell it for a whopping 135€. http://www.microsoft...uctID.320437800 Seriously??? that is exactly half the price of the cheapest laptop with windows bundled in the package I could find in under a minute http://www.mediamark...t--1499072.html I don't get it... (also the boxed version in store is actually cheaper than a download) So I guess I'll try and follow this road http://paulthetall.com/assassin-creed-revelations-mac/ Edited November 17, 2015 by Egghebrecht
reepicheep 324 Posted November 17, 2015 Not Belgium but I've found this: http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/453551/microsoft-windows-10-home-nl-64bit-oem.html That being said, that series went pretty far downhill after Brohood (I say that not having played Revelations but only having heard mediocre things about it) and 3 is definitely pretty garbage so take that as you will :P
Chaoss 89 Posted November 17, 2015 Brotherhood was my favorite, Revelations was pretty solid, but not to the same caliber. AC3 was really disappointing to me. Back on topic, can't you use the program Wine to run Windows applications on a Mac? I wish I knew more about it, this topic just reminded me of hearing it somewhere. It works well for some, terrible for others (and rarely as well as it would on Windows).

Bwauder 249 Posted November 17, 2015 I very recently had W10 quoted at $140 AU when purchased with hardware ( specifically a HDD among some other things), sounds worse but do an exchange rate conversion. I believe the Australian MS policy ( & possibly still international ??) is to offer the reduced price to home system builders as well(with @ least some evidence a new build is in progress) similar to the deal they have with Dell, Compaq, Acer..... to preinstall whatever version is current cheaply. You probably dont want PC hardware but if someone you know is buying it anyway .... cheaper version of Winblows.
Chaoss 89 Posted November 17, 2015 Hm my apologies then, I only knew the program by its concept, not by how well it works.

I don't personally have experience with that (I get free Windows because I'm a student anyway), but surely that's not illegal or whatever?

Egghebrecht 370 Posted November 28, 2015 got a tip from a friend for a key for under 20€ for the professional version http://www.kinguin.net/category/19429/windows-10-professional-oem-key/ posting it here for your references since it is bloody cheap and genuine!
