Jeez. The last time I was online was four years ago. Surprised my account even works. Even then, most of the stuff I did was lurk. Damn I missed this place. So many memories, people. The activity. Like, it blew my mind how one game brought so many people together in this one forum. But now, it's just...so empty. So depressing :(. One of my favorite users here, Wiltingplant, apparently quit last year. Going on the clan chat in RS it was mostly empty. I miss the community. 2007 didn't seem like 9 years ago at all.

9 freaking years. Time flies so fast you don't even realize it.

I guess most of us grew up? Idk. Hell, I was just a kid at the time. Damn.

Looking through these forums are like looking at a museum now.

Wish I could timetravel. haha.

Aww I miss Wilt. Many good times were had back in the day. I think he's quit for a while now though. And I miss Macki and the shennenigans he and his groupies caused (even though they were rather immature and nasty in hindsight). We should all collaborate to make a 'history of Sals' timeline. Old and new members uniting to contribute the more significant events of the forum. Off the top of my head I can think of the popularity of the Sals newspaper, the DBZ comics, that infamous topic in the debate forum, super loved members abruptly quitting, the reign of screenshot fakes, dramas, april fools events, site 'easter hunts'.

Idk how I missed this thread - I try to check the site twice a week or so, but rarely post unless there's something to offer (by way of congratz! or so, usually).

I'm here every day. I hardly ever post though.

Aye, it becomes habitual, and then you hope someone posts something interesting, so you get caught in a cycle of logging in and observing. :cute:

Haha yeah. Sal's is the first item in my bookmarks bar, and is one of three tabs I keep open almost all the time.

The nice thing about it is that it does have its gems even nowadays, even if they are few and far between. It makes it worth it to at least silently observe. :P

I wish I could go back into the clan chat in like 2008 and read what we were saying. Probably some terrible, terrible things.

Or great things.

Like all terrible things are.

I recently checked out that new Last Man Standing mode as a F2P and it was pretty fun. Almost won a game, need to work on the prayer flicks (never did master those...)

More schoolwork on my plate than before though, so the times I get to log in to RS are few and far between.

I'm not active but I pop in every 3 months or so just for nostalgia :(

Thank you everyone sincerely

I still think of these forums as the new forums...it feels like just yesterday what number you were was terribly important! Anyone have any idea how many active members are left?

Edit - does anyone know when it got so quiet? Was it a gradual drop off or was it an exodus all at once?

gradual drop, runescape itself has lost much of it's glory, the pay to win and terribly implemented 'evolution of combat' pushed quite a few people out

and forums in general are a dying medium, wiki's (including an official one) took over for the guides bit and social media for the community

the forum now is populated by old timers who post here when bored at work :P
