What happened to the value of my rare(s)??

Question

Posted

I logged into RS for my yearly or so check up a few weeks ago, and afterwards checked the value of my Green H'ween mask that I was so proud to get when I was seriously playing the game (I sold my entire bank just to afford it) only to be horrified that it is now worth only a few thousand gp. I assume at one of the recent Halloween events they flooded a whole bunch of them back into the game? Or you can build them now with some new mask making skill?? Anyway, theories aside would love to know the answer so I can cry in my horrible investment

Thanks!

So this wiki page says they're worth a smidge under 200M - unless I've got the wrong mask?

Ah I'm an idiot!

I was looking at the old school runescape grand exchange http://services.rune...ewitem?obj=1053

I guess my question now becomes, what's up with their price?

I believe they're available as a reward every year for the corresponding holiday event.

No, you got it right the first time; they're worth a few thousand gp. I'll be a pal and take it off your hands for 10,000 gp, but I can't go any higher.

Why are they common in OSRS? Did they make them a part of the universal loot tables with a tiny chance of dropping, or something? Or are they rewards from holiday events? :P

They made an event in which Party Hats, Santa Hats and H'ween masks would appear randomly in parts of the wilderness if I remember it right. People just hoarded them knowing they'd become 'rares' but because there's so many around now they have no real value.
