Now now, this could be a classic case of Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc.

...or you have somehow started Armageddon, and humanity will forever curse your name forevermore in the far-flung future.

We should move this to the announcements section.  No need to add “Congratulations to…” because that would not adequately communicate our bleak despair.

I assure you, if I were in a position where I had the power to get rid of my enemies, I would never send them to a gulag. No one would be subject to forced labour for the rest of their long lives. :cute:

There was a moment of viewing a topic. I saw this flash of orange as my heavy eyes scrawled over a post. "Ah, Lilshu, probably," I thought.

I continued scrolling, quicker and quicker, when I spotted the letter Y. Confusion set upon me quicker than lockdown gripped the world.

Finally, I rested my eyes firmly on the text I had so absentmindedly scrolled past. Yuanrang, Forum Admin.

So strange to my eyes and yet so familiar. The man I know, perfect to take on such a task, albeit years later than it should have been, finally, where he belongs.

I don't know if congratulations are the best word to describe the scenario you find yourself in, but if one man can and will wear the metaphorical hat, it is wise that you are that such man.

Well done, I am sure you will maintain the ship whilst it sits in the dockyard. :yay:

I wanted to make a great entrance post, but I just realised there's so much to say, so much to cover and too little time. Nostalgia hits hard.
You know as a teen when I joined here I've always sort of admired you as role model of what I wanted to be in RuneScape, in this community and as a person. And in many ways I shaped myself, my personality, my way of handling situations etc the best I could in your image.
A bit silly to say but it's the purest of truths, in many ways I am the person I am today greatly by the influence Yuanrang had on me. My time and competence moderating other successful games/communities, my real life values, friendships etc... the praise I've received for it is all to the large part thanks to the lessons Yuan taught me, those he did so interacting personally with me, and the ones I learned myself simply watching him.
It's so odd to think of the people who has affected my life the most - in a positive manner - is someone I've never seen, that I've only ever contacted in messages. And yet it's someone I always talk about with absolute deference and pride when I am asked why I am as efficient and good with community management, and dealing with trolls/rule-breaking and similar situations.
Who I was then is a mere shade of what I am today. I was a little prick when I was around, in all these years. I can see it now clearly when looking back at my posts even though I considered myself oh-so-cool, and I can see how much I've grew and how I lost so many of the bad past traits and kept so many of the good ones which were mainly Yuanrang's influence.
If only he had become an Admin sooner. Nobody deserves it more than he did, and I'll happily fight anybody who disagrees.
A congratulations feels so out of place given the state of Sal's and RuneScape in general, but I'll happily pretend it was the good old days of the golden age of Sal's and RS.
Hats off to you Yuan. Hope life is treating you well friend.

Oh sure, when future generations will comb through archaeological finds to out when everything wrong, it is convenient for you to have a scapegoat to blame it on..! :cute:

Oh, I am not doing too bad. There are a few aspects to life that I wish was sorted out so they would not be stressors, but for the most part, things are going very well. My biggest gripe is that I wish I had more time for everything I want to do, but it is fairly easy to get by either way.
That said, I hope you are doing well too. With a pandemic going on, I can imagine there have been some rough times, but I hope you have managed to come through it without any issues.

Yeah but he can take it away at any time

It's led to an awkward power imbalance dynamic and I don't feel safe

Think of me as your editor. You supply a steady stream of webcomics within certain deadlines, and the pip/group stays unless someone complains or raises the issue at Staff level.

You get a shiny lil' pip, the community get more Dragon Sal Z, and I get to constantly have you live in fear that the tiny iota of respect and prestige you have, would end up being snuffed out by a clench of my iron fist.

....whoops, sorry, was still in Teacher-mode after work. Nothing to see.... move along.. :aware:
