Mr. Slayer Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Thanks for your comments on my guide. :D The thieving guide is great. I'm sure to use it whenever I will need to. Great job folodabusido. I'm hoping to see more from you! :P ~Slayer
i haveanidea Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Lolz Mr. Slayer, g'job on the guide, but are you running out of guides to write?
Mr. Slayer Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 (edited) Lolz Mr. Slayer, g'job on the guide, but are you running out of guides to write? I'm planning to do a Black Arm gang guide. I have a noobie account I made that is in the Black Arm gang so I will be able to write it. Hopefully, it will be as good as my Phoenix Gang guide. ~Slayer Edited June 18, 2006 by Mr. Slayer
Steve Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 (edited) There's a submissions form? :P I thought all we had to do was submit through the forums...? :D The form is for people who haven't joined the forum, or for people who just feel like sending me email. :o You wouldn't believe how many emails I get each day from those forms. :P Are the like.. friendly emails? Or are they hate mail? Or are they the low quality guides you get to laugh at? :D - 1. Must be doing the Shield Of Arrav Quest. You can get in after the quest if thats your gang. Also I think the guide is pretty pointless, but if a guide on the black arm gang is added to it (so its a two part guide, on one page) then it could be useful while doing the Shield of Arrav quest. The guides are good, though. :P Edited June 18, 2006 by Steve
Mr. Slayer Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 You can get in after the quest if thats your gang. This is quoted from my guide in the submitted section. Requirements:1) Must have done the quest Shield Of Arrav 2) Joined the Phoenix Gang 3) Have the key to the Phoenix Base (talk to Straven for it if you are in the gang) I guess Sal changed it but I think it is fine to leave it as "Must be doing." Either way is fine, but the "Must be doing" is better for others. I understand your point though. Just leave it as it is. :P ~Slayer
Metallicaz65 Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Great Guides peoplez! Thanks for the thieving guide. Especially liked it. Oh but the Phoenix Gang guide is good too. ~Metal :P
One Weird Forumer Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 you should make a guide about the blackarm headquarter on Brimhaven.
Kuittaa Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 This may be a bit late for me to say this; I should've give this comment earlier. My bad, and I'm sorry for it. Thieving guide's "Fastest Way to 99 Thieving" gives false information. After one is able to thieve knights, he/she should do only that, since they give very fast thieving experience. With 70 theiving Paladins get you very often, and their exp is a bit less than double (152) the amount of knights' (84,5). And trust me, it is easier to pick-pocket eight knights than four paladins with that skill level. I don't have (yet) personal experience about picking gnomes or above, but I'm quite sure success rate is even worse that with paladins. Yesterday I timed some of my pick-pocketing in order to get average exp/hour. This was done with thieving level 77, pick-pocketing knights, trapped into building west of Ardougne's western food stall. Time includes two randoms (cage and MOM) and one run to bank to resupply food (monkfish) and cut the gem MOM gave me. I wore no armour expect dark gloves. I wielded short bow (without arrows of course). I timed gained exp for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 minutes of pick-pocketing, then took the average. It was around 84,000 exp per hour (roughly 1k knights pick-pocketed per hour, ~50k earned per hour). I reckon exp rate is pretty good. While I didn't count it, I think I managed to pick-pocket knight around 25-30 times in row without getting caught. I tried the same on paladins (very briefly, so this really is not comparable) and was able to thieve three times in a row.
Raz Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I too found the theiving help guide shockingly misleading. The phenix guide atleast is good although very simple and unnessisary.
ImTheMonk Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 (edited) I'll have to agree. The guide is missing links to other guides, it needs a few spaces, and I found a few capitalization errors as well. Sorry, but the Thieving Help Guide guide isn't just as good as it could've been and it really might need a re-doing. :P ~=~ITM~=~ Edited June 20, 2006 by im the monk
Guest The Evolution Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Some fantastic new guides. Well done to the people that helped make those guides. The thieving help guide is a brilliant guide which has really helped me out and I learnt quite a lot from it so a big thanks for that and the Phonenix Gang one I already knew about but nice guide anyway. Thanks for your great help and guides.
