Neo Avatars Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Both well written! Are you ill? If I tried to follow that quest guide I'd probably find myself lost somewhere in the middle of the Wilderness. It's one of the worst guides I've read in ages, accepted or not, and am sure completing the quest without the guide would be a lot easier. Ā It just about summarises the terrible organisation and lack of co-operation there is around this forum and makes me wonder if anybody actually reads anything or listens to people before somethign is accepted. Ā The Warriors Guild guide is alright, but maybe a bit too brief and could do with being embelished a bit more.
Yorick Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 (edited) Well written guides  Edited June 23, 2006 by Zerstƶren
Julz(DJ)4433 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 They seem like good guides to me  But I guess I wouldn't know if it was easy to follow or not as I quit RS.
Sir Hasif Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Nice guides, both very well written, good job guys  Ā ~ JD
Zachary Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 The guides are 'ok'. They dont really seem up to website quality. Ā Ā And may I ask why I cant get on the site/forum this new server is horrible.
Mikey Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Congrats Redhairgoku and Samurai5911! Great guides! Ā ~dark~
Mr. Slayer Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Bronze - Combat Level 11 - 1 Token Iron - Combat Level 23 - 2 Tokens Steel - Combat Level 46 - 5 Tokens Black - Combat Level 69 - 10 Tokens Mithril - Combat Level 92 - 20 Tokens Adamant - Combat Level 113 - 30 Tokens Rune - Combat Level 138 - 40 Tokens Ā Last time I checked, bronze gave 5 tokens, iron gave 10 tokens, steel gave 15, black gave 20, mithril gave 25, adamant gave 30, and rune gave 40. I think that is wrong and that no one noticed at all. Ā Well otherwise, nicely written although the Death to Dorgeshuun needs improvement. So do some of our guides on the quests that we have. Ā ~Slayer
Psv Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 There are pictures in the guild guide which are from me.. I didn't get credit.. :$
redhairgoku Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 yay and nice warrior guild guide  Ā Neo, you say the quest quality is bad. so lets assume it is. then u say no one co-operates, then why dont you tell mistakes or whatever you think isn't that good. Not much of a difference between people who do not say mistakes and just complain about the quality than a person who doesnt help improve the guide, is it?

Not much of a difference between people who do not say mistakes and just complain about the quality than a person who doesnt help improve the guide, is it? Ā Well put. I think that some the quest guides do need updating to make the quality a bit better. The majority are allright though. Ā ~ JD
Neo Avatars Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Neo, you say the quest quality is bad. so lets assume it is. then u say no one co-operates, then why dont you tell mistakes or whatever you think isn't that good. Not much of a difference between people who do not say mistakes and just complain about the quality than a person who doesnt help improve the guide, is it? To cover several things that i think were commented about in the quoted passage, and some other things that I don't want to forget: There were 6 threads made for writing the quest guide, none of which were of any quality at the point in time the guide was put on the site. Either wait until there is a complete one that is accurate, find a new way to organise things like making an official thread that is stickied after a new release. The author will be somebody who knows they will be able to complete a quality guide within a couple of days. This would get rid of a large amount of spam and the great thing is, if done properly, works. Since there were so many threads it was impossible for me to comment on every single one. After reading the one that was put on the site, I did make a thread with some corrections in it. I feel that having the thing at the top of General Submissions that says "Please check with Salmoneus before submitting a guide. Just send me a PM and I'll let you know if it's ok. This prevents the same guide from being sent in by multiple people." just creates trouble rather than preventing it. It makes people aregue aimlessly over who should be the author of the guide. Guides should be put on the site based on quality, not who decides to ask first. I could get permission to write numerous guides, then never write them, posting in any threads on the requested topics that I have permission to write it. If it makes people sad then it should be a learning curve. you should write a guide because you want to help people, not to make yourself famous. This means that you don't get mad if you don't get credit for something or if a different guide is chosen rather than your own. There is one person that is obviously hungry for fame at the moment and just a quick look around the submissions area will make it obvious who. That compariason is a strange one. Of course there isn't much difference. The only thing one does that the other doesn't is complain. I agree that the Quest Guide area of the site needs looking through. There are some guides that are of a very high quality (this took about 4 days before being completed and is a good example that rushing things isn't good), and others like Legends need some info added, but on the whole are good, the final type is like this where they are of a low quality, maybe with false information and I wonder why they got accepted. Of course it isn't only quest guides that are like this, and every page of the site should be read through to check for mistakes. There are probably some things that I have missed, but this is what I can think of at the moment.
Guest The Evolution Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Some fantastic guides well done to the 2 that made it espically Samurai I think that is the first guide you have made and I must say a very nice guide for your first with lots of detail and it is also much better then the one runehq has even though it took a bit more time to come out. The quest guide was just as good as the one found on runehq it had everything needed but there are a few images which are not showing on the guide. Well done you two and thanks for the guides to help me explore the new guild and for when I do this new quest.
