Kuittaa Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I got this with IE: Error loading class: SkillCalculatorsjava.lang.NoClassDefFoundError java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: SkillCalculators at com/ms/vm/loader/URLClassLoader.loadClass at com/ms/vm/loader/URLClassLoader.loadClass at com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.securedClassLoad at com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.processSentEvent at com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.processSentEvent at com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.run at java/lang/Thread.run
One 8 Hundred Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Wow nice, java. How advanced. We just smoked all other site, okay?
ImTheMonk Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 (edited) It worked for me, thanks Sal. ~=~ITM~=~ Edited June 27, 2006 by im the monk
man Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 The calculators only work in IE for me. :D I tried Firefox and Opera but it says "Java Applet Notinited" in the status bar. I have the newest version of Java and I accepted all of the security warnings and I have Java and Javascript turned on. :P Can you right-click on the "X" and select "show console," then copy and paste any errors it shows? Thanks. :D It doesn't have an X, it just perpetually displays a "Loading Java Applet..." message. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/CharSequence at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Unknown Source) at sun.applet.AppletPanel.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.applet.AppletPanel.runLoader(Unknown Source) at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) That's what the Java console shows. ^ :P

Un0 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Java is friking tough. :o I can barely code a simple calculator let alone skill calculators. Sal... The items one can cook/mine/fish etc are in green right? Sometimes part of them show as red then turn green after I scroll past them then go back up. Why is that? And...there isn't a crafting calculator. ;) mkae one please? :) ^_^
Zest is da Best Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Yay!!!!!! New calculators!!!!!! Who made them and did all the coding? You Sal? Ye. ;) I wanted to try my hand at coding such useful machines ( :) ), and I've been learning Java for the past year, so I gave it a try. :o PS - is anyone having trouble connecting to the site? If anyone else who's having trouble can tell me what version they're running it would make it a lot easier to hunt down the problem. :P Java is friking tough. :(I can barely code a simple calculator let alone skill calculators. Can you explain that problem a bit more? The coloring works fine for me, and no one else has had that problem (that I know of).
5t0n3c0l12 Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 o.O the calcs done work for me the loader won't pop up
Preisty Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Pretty nifty sal. Great job. I'm so glad the lagg is fixed too. Thanks Sal.

Guest Purinsesu Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 (edited) i'm back on ! sorry for the long-time reply... sadly, the calculators still dont work for me . my mother wouldn't let me download the newest version of java . i just restarted my computer, and when i click to use a calculator, i accept the security warning, and then it says 'applet loading...,' and then it said 'applet loaded' for a splitsecond, but then it changes to 'applet crashed' right after. what happened? there isn't even an X to click on to see what it says! this is harder than i thought it would be :P. could you compile the calculators to my version of java? that would be really helpful and JUST might work. i'm not good with java so i dont know. thanks! Edited June 28, 2006 by Purinsesu
Salmoneus Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 @ Flummy - Oh, it appears that your Firefox is using an older version of the plugin than the calcs were designed for. :P I compiled them to be used with version 1.4, but your version says 1.3. If it works in IE for you, then it might mean that the plugin for IE is up to date, but you need to get the version for FF/Opera specifically because they're both different. Which makes me laugh, because Java was designed to be used on everything from computers to coffee pots, but every coffee pot will need it's own version. I'll try and make it so that FF/IE/Opera will detect that you have an out of date version and attempt to update for you (with your permission, that is).
noobsauce Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Y no fletching calc, but i like the construction one
man Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 That's weird, I should have Java 1.5.* ------------------------- Edit: It works for me now and I didn't do anything. :P Oh well, as long as it works.
Salmoneus Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Awesome. :P I switched to using nested object and embed tags rather than a plain old applet tag, which should work on all major browsers. Hopefully this solves the problem for everyone.

Tiddyn Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 There are some small errors like thing appear as members only and stuff. I know f2p can make air tiaras so I think they can make all upto body (the f2p rune thingys) And with woodcutting it says that 'Maple' isn't members only but still f2p can't cut, that causes a misunderstanding.

man Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I have a suggestion for the construction one. Do you think you could add the raw materials to it? (Like planks, limestone, etc.) It would make it easier to see how many we need to get for a level. :P Good job though. :D

I'll take a look, I probably made a mistake when I was typing up all the levels and such. :P :( It maybe because I entered my goal...Still, shouldn't it be green all the way to 53 after my xp is fetched? I actually made it so that you have to hit the calculate button before it shows what you can make, but it could be easily modified to do that. :( I have a suggestion for the construction one.
