Climbing Boots can only be purchased from Tenzing after completion of the Death Plateau quest. Players may only buy a pair if they do not have one already.
Climbing Boots are used in several quests, including Death Plateau, Troll Stronghold, Troll Romance and Eadgar's Ruse. The main use of these boots is to make it possible to climb the shortcut up to the Death Plateau Troll area.
Climbing Boots should not be confused with Rock Climbing Boots, which are a much more expensive form of footwear. Unlike regular climbing Boots, Rock Climbing Boots offer a +2 Strength equipment bonus when worn.
